A Genuine Community Leader and My Forever Mentor and Friend
I am deeply saddened by the passing of Bob Fairclough OAM. Bob was a dedicated leader and a passionate advocate for the community.
Particularly for the Chinese community, he has been chairing the Multi-culture Lunar New Year in Wyndham since the very beginning for non stop, the night before he passed away, he still chairing the meeting for us, We finished our meeting around 8:30pm 30th of Jan at Point Cook Community Center, then we worked out together shaked hands and say goodbye.
And at 22th of Jan, Bob came to Williams Landing Train Station at 6:30am in the morning with me to hand out the flyers for our Lunar New year until around 9am.
He is a real role model for me, all of my family members and close friends know how much he has been supporting me, he treated me as his kid, teach me everything to become a good councillor and a good person, we met each other almost every single week to discuss everything, and he agreed to keep guide me during this term, lots and lots of things I have been learning from him and more things I need to learn from him about council, career, culture, life, everything…
He’s as my Godfather for these many years since I started my community life, I won’t get this position without his trust and support, so much more I can say about him.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his legacy continue to inspire us, and may he rest in peace.
I LOVE YOU Bob Fairclough ,
WE All LOVE YOU
